After the controversial bill SOPA was shot down by huge public outcry, our state representatives continue to support legislation even more horrendous in the CISPA bill. Why do they do this? It’s cause people like you and me don’t hold them accountable. We don’t run, we don’t vote these people out of office, and that’s exactly why they aren’t scared. Lobbyists fatten their pockets and because our lives are “ALRIGHT”, we don’t worry too much. When we do start worrying though it’ll be too late.

Earlier this year Google rolled out with Google+. It was the BIGGEST bust of the year, besides for netflix splitting off into quikster or whatever it was. Even Google’s own employees didn’t like it. Why the hell would you want to add every friend over again by having to search for them essentially by gmail?
Anyway, here is a thought for you: Would you use facebook for email if they could offer some similar to gmail? I sure would…
I like digsby but was fed up with facebook chat not working on there. Here’s how I got it to work.
1. Go to this website (you must be logged onto facebook)
http://www.facebook.com/sitetour/chat.php
2. On that site, click “Other”. Note that you must have chosen a facebook username. If you haven’t this procedure won’t work.
3. If you do have a facebook username, it will show you connection settings to use to connect via a Jabber chat client.
IN DIGSBY
Click Digsby.
Click My Accounts.
Click on the lightbulb (Jabber).
Select Advanced. Choose No Encryption.
Your IM server should be chat.facebook.com
Your Jabber ID should be username@chat.facebook.com (that page I sent you to earlier should tell you).
Things to Note:
If you have FB chat in a browser and Digsby open at the same time, you will only receive messages on one or the other. Also, I believe secured Facebook browsing should be turned off, although I haven’t tested anything yet.
